Display & keypad operationPRO
Local control workflows and menu structure.
Overview
Local display + keypad enable essential operations without a web browser: profile selection, network config (IP1), input transport setup, recording control.
Startup
On boot the unit enters Status Mode showing current outbound bitrate or input signal status.
Main Menu Structure (Simplified)
| Menu | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Network | IP1 status, static/dynamic selection, bandwidth test |
| IP stream in 1..6 | Configure input transport methods |
| Output streams | Add/manage UDP/TCP/RTP/FEC/Bifrost outputs |
| Profiles | Select or save new profile |
| Start/Stop recording | Global record toggle (if storage present) |
| Recording status | Space usage, format option |
A * denotes active/selected option (e.g., Dynamic IP).
Key Operations
Switch to Dynamic IP
Network → Dynamic IP → Activate → Verify under Current IP.
Add New UDP Output
Output streams → New UDP stream → Enter IP/port → Activate stream.
Adjust TCP Receive Buffer
IP stream in (select stream) → TCP recv. buffer → Set (0.3–0.5 s for interactive; 3–10 s long-form).
Save Active Settings as Profile
Profiles → Save new profile → Rename later via web UI.
UDP Smoothing Buffer
Reduces burstiness from encoder variability. Lower = less latency. If excess network headroom, set very low (e.g. 0.01).
Tips
- Use test picture to validate output chain quickly.
- Watch for Manual conf. indicator to track deviations from base profile.
Limitations
- Cannot rename/edit existing profiles.
- IP2 and advanced system settings absent (use web UI).
